Eight Patches - Five Critical from Microsoft

Microsoft have issued eight patches, five of which were critical, to fix twelve vulnerabilities. Windows, Internet Explored, Word, MSN Messenger are all to be fixed. Microsoft Exchange also received an update.

The critical vulnerabilities and updates for IE affect the TCP/IP stack, that would allow remote code execution and a security update.

Internet Control Message Protocol (ICMP) is the source of the stack problem. An established connection can be reset or slowed.

The finders of the TCP/IP stack problem, Qualys, have warned that Microsoft is not alonw in sending out the flaw.

MSN Messenger has a security flaw, involving the processing of GIF files.

The MS Word problem could allow remote code execution. As could the Exchange flaw.
